Loud Justice Theatre Project To End Global Poverty: Call for Volunteers!

With one billion people expected to go hungry this year, the cash flow from the poorest to the richest countries in debt repayments, unshared profits from foreign multinationals and unfair trade agreements continues to dwarf the amount these countries receive in aid.

The Loud Justice theatre project says enough is enough! Through creative street and community theatre performances, we promote civil society action to end global poverty.

Here are some ways to get involved:

- Help develop bilingual street theatre that proposes structural solutions to the global economic and food crises
- Promote the project through alternative media sources: blog, community radio, video, flyers at shows and cultural events, etc.
- Perform street theatre throughout year

The SJC theatre program is a decade-old tradition in Montreal. Since 1996 the troupe has performed at a number of venues, from city parks, to high schools, to sold-out theatres.

The Dictatorship of Debt - 2009 Season

The 2009 season of The Dictatorship of Debt took place at three separate venues in April, including Players Theatre, La Sala Rossa and the Atwater Library. Focusing on the issue of odious debt, this year’s debt theatre troupe collected over 100 letters to the minister of finance urging him to act on this issue.
