Social Justice Committee Coordinator to speak during weekend launch of book by former World Bank official Robert Calderisi.

Montreal - 29 March 2006 –In conjunction with this Saturday’s launch of the book “The Trouble with Africa: Why Foreign Aid Isn’t Working”, by author and former World Bank official Robert Calderisi, Social Justice Committee Coordinator Derek MacCuish will provide follow-up commentary on the book and moderate public discussion.

Robert Calderisi, Concordia University's first Rhodes Scholar and a World Bank official for two decades, will offer insights from his book into why Africa is still struggling, 40 years after independence. SJC Coordinator Derek MacCuish, a long-time critic of World Bank policy, invites all attendees to hear and discuss Mr. Calderisi’s views.

The book launch and general discussion takes place this Saturday, April 1st, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, at St. Patrick’s Congress Hall (454 René-Levesque Blvd.). Admission is free and parking is available next to the Church.
